Recreational Gymnastics
The Recreational Gymnastics Program here at the Ohio Gymnastics Institute, Inc. is fun, challenging, safe and progressive.  Classes are designed for elementary school children in the first grade and up.  We offer five different skill levels which suit the needs for every child interested in learning traditional Gymnastics.  Class skill levels are also separated into Boys Recreational Gymnastics Classes and Girls Recreational Gymnastics Classes.  The five skill levels are:
   Beginner
   Beginner ages 10 and older
   Novice
   Intermediate
   Advanced

Every child enrolled in the program automatically becomes a part of the National Gymnastics Skills Test Program (NGSTP) - a skill acquisition program taught in a non competitive environment. The NGSTP challenges each gymnast to learn five skills on each of the traditional gymnastics apparatus as well as trampoline, strength and flexibility.  Students' names are placed on a wall chart with others of the same skill level.  Each time a student masters a skill a sticker is used to record the student's accomplishments.  Once all the stickers in a skill level have been mastered, the student is awarded a Trophy and is advanced to the next level.  Students and parents can use this program to monitor progress, identify weaknesses and establish goals.

The opportunity for a competitive experience happens three times each year at our Intra Class Competitions (ICC).  Gymnasts have the choice of participating or not and compete only against others of the same skill level and age group. Check the newsletter for more information.
